Jane Ballard, MSSW, LCSW-S, CEDS, PMH-C, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Supervisor, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and Perinatal Mental Health Certified clinician. As the founder of Jane Ballard Wellness, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults, couples, and families. Jane is passionate about creating a supportive and empowering space where individuals from all backgrounds can heal, grow, and thrive. She tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, ensuring that they receive the highest level of care.
Jane’s journey in mental health began with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University (2001), followed by a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin (2004). During graduate school, she gained valuable clinical experience through a practicum with Communities in Schools of Central Texas, specializing in play therapy and group therapy for elementary school children. She later expanded her expertise through an international practicum at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia, where she worked with adults in a community mental health setting.
After earning her degree, Jane continued her global experience by providing mental health assessments and care coordination for older adults in the Borough of Greenwich, Southeast London, England. Upon returning to Texas in 2005, she served as a therapist and later as Director of Adult Psychiatric Services at Red River Hospital in Wichita Falls, working in addiction and adult mental health. Since relocating to Dallas in 2007, Jane has deepened her clinical expertise in various settings, including Green Oaks Hospital, a National Institutes of Health research study on chronic pain, and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital’s Emergency Department, where she provided crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. She also spent several years at Sparrow House Counseling, specializing in eating disorders, body image concerns, and perinatal mental health.
Jane’s passion for helping others was shaped by the strong, compassionate women in her life. Inspired by her mother, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and her aunt, an Episcopal priest, she pursued a career dedicated to healing and personal growth. Her work is also deeply informed by her own experiences with grief, having lost her mother to cancer, and finding peace through therapy. These personal experiences fuel her commitment to supporting individuals navigating grief and loss, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, pregnancy loss, fertility challenges, obsessive-compulsive disorder, disordered eating, addiction, and the mental health impacts of perimenopause and menopause.
As the founder of Jane Ballard Wellness, Jane is passionate about advocating for women’s mental health at every stage of life, particularly in helping them navigate the hormonal changes that impact emotional well-being. She also co-leads Sober in Dallas and co-hosts Mindful Sobriety: The Podcast, creating spaces for meaningful conversations around mental health, sobriety, and self-care.
In her free time, Jane enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with her husband, Kyle, and their three children.
